Invitra.org is a private initiative that started over 10 years ago in a small farming village in Gujarat, India. The name In-Vi-Tra is an abbreviation for Indian Village in Transition and wants to point out, that India's economical growth is also bringing big changes to the rural population.
While even lately the indian village has lagged decades behind
western standards in its infrastructural and technological development,
the past few years have brought about remarkable as well as thought
provoking changes to rural India.
On this Website we will have a look at the impact of globalization on rural India, examine the complex coherences of the recent development and analyse the challenges, which the rural population is confronted with.
Invitra.org advocates the farmers and their needs during this special times, presents approaches to solutions and reports current developments which affect the indian agriculture and its role in the basic provision for society.
